One Colour Special Queue Booking
While VéloColour produces some of the best custom paint found anywhere in the world we also know that high end custom paint is not the goal for every project. Sometimes it’s about cleaning up an old road bike or commuter, removing rust and corrosion or just getting excited about a bike by adding some new colour. The One Colour Special ($425 plus tax) is an affordable option to bring new life to your bike. It offers the same durability and protection as our top quality work without all of the sanding and intricacy. All deposits are non-refundable
The Golden Rules below are put in place to streamline the process and keep costs down. Please read before booking.
The Golden Rules of the VéloColour One Colour Special :
Rule #1: Metal frames only. No Carbon. Reason: Carbon has to be hand sanded which takes us 4-7hr per bike. Although we make an except for metal bikes with Carbon forks. A carbon fork will be an additional $50 for the prep work involved. E-bikes will have an additional charge if not all cables are removed.
Rule #2: Pick-Up and Drop off only as this is a special offer for those who are local. If you aren’t local we can do it but we charge a $150 handling/packing fee on top of return shipping.
Rule #3: No add-ons, no additional masking, no little touches of a second colour, no decals applied under clear coat, etc etc. This is a biggy. The process of the One Colour special is quick, straight from primer, to paint to clear coats.
Rule #4: The exceptions to Rule #3. First, masking of existing chrome or titanium can be done before we sandblast and prime. Second, we can apply your supplied decals over top of the final clear coat. Both of these exceptions are additional charges and quoted per project - often between $50-$200
Rule #5: As with every project that comes to VéloColour, frames must come in clean and stripped of all parts and components. We do offer parts removal and reassembly charged at $125 per hour. Check out our mechanical page for ball park pricing.
Rule #6: The colour choices for the One Colour Special are not as vast as our standard work but we have many nice colours to choose from in both solid and metallic finishes. If you do not want any of the colour options we have available we can mix a custom colour for an additional $50-100. Colours are not all shown on the website and can be chosen from our swatches at drop off.
Rule #7: A One Colour Special is not comparable to the high quality paintwork we are known for. We’ve eliminated all of the sanding and filling to offer a quick and affordable paint option. If your frame is dented or has some pitting from previous rust these rough or uneven areas will still be visible in the final finish. In other words, the better the condition of your frame, the better the outcome.
