THe VéloColour Version
A blog about how it’s going down according to us
When we’re not designing, fabricating, sewing or painting, we’ll be updating you on our latest shop happenings, insights into the design and paint processes and whatever else comes to mind.
Some might call it a blog, we call it the VéloColour Version. Whether it’s a behind the scenes look at paint and products, a place to discuss important issues and how they relate to the cycling industry or a chance to highlight like minded businesses doing awesome things, this is the place to go a little deeper.
Bringing a Colnago C59 up to speed
When VéloColour opened it’s doors in 2008 we were known mainly for restoration work, restorations of British, French, Italian steel bikes. Now that carbon bikes have been around for 15+ years we are starting to see more and more restorations of carbon frames. Quite frankly we love this! There is nothing more satisfying then bringing new life to a bicycle that our customers love to ride.

Velocio Cycling Apparel available at Vélocolour in Toronto
So, why Velocio? We ride our bikes, a lot and the gear we wear while doing it is serious business. Good cycling kit isn’t just about looking good, for us it’s also about quality, all day comfort, durability and details. Over the years, we’ve made a significant shift in focus, putting our environmental impact at the center of our decision making. Velocio constructs their items from recycled and natural fibers with a strong focus on how their products are made, they have been a longtime supporter of women and BIPOC communities within cycling.
Before the Booth: Getting Started
A behind-the-scenes look at the design process for a bicycle – modern or vintage – that involves a creative approach to the paint scheme. We call these projects “Custom Bikes” to distinguish them from classic restorations, even though the bike in question could be a 1960s steel-frame road bike.
